Once-In-A-Lifetime Experience

Beaver Golf student Annika Collado and Dyer Park student Jordan Reyes were invited as guests by the Gary & Vivienne Player Foundation for a tournament at The Bear’s Club. These two lucky students spent the day with legends like Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus.  And Jordan’s team won first place!

Annika said, “Today was an incredible and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity thanks to First Tee – Palm Beaches. I met PGA Professionals from across the world and played golf with legends of the game like Gary Player. It was cool to see how he prepares to play, his consistent positive attitude, and his outgoing personality. He is very inspirational!”

Veterans Having Fun

Belle Glade veterans are in full swing! Our Coaches offer lessons for the golfers and the group, then they play 18 holes. Thank you Belle Glade Municipal Golf Course for hosting our nation’s heroes.

22 Project

We conducted an outing for the 22 Project at Drive Shack to teach their veterans all about the fundamentals of golf. The 22 Project’s top priority is supporting our nation’s veterans. They work with highly trained, board-certified physicians to provide advanced diagnostic imaging to show the impact of Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD on our soldiers.

Experiencing The Magic

Chapter alumna Jayda Dookie has found herself nestled in the heart of Orlando for her summer in the Disney College Program. She has been immersed in a myriad of opportunities provided by the program, from Disney’s illuminating leadership classes, hands-on work experiences, and the ability to explore the Disney Parks.  Jayda’s summer can be seen as nothing short of magical.

Being in the epicenter of theme parks, Jayda is seizing the opportunity to deepen her understanding of her chosen majors, Supply Chain Management and Global Studies. Using Disney as a backdrop, she uses the workshops they give to highlight the balance between imagination and logistics that makes the company so successful.

Fore All Junior Golf Foundation

The Fore All Junior Golf Foundation’s team of ambassadors hosted Tabor Academy for a match at The Park during their spring break trip to South Florida.  Ten members of each team played in the matches.  The Tabor group graciously donated directly to our organization in honor of the Fore All team.

The Fore All Junior Golf Foundation has been set up by Carson Lowe, age 14, and Nicholas Zaccagnino, age 15, to increase accessibility to the best courses and tournaments in the United States. Jordan has been an exemplary member of our mission, increasing the viability and accessibility, and bringing new junior golfers into better environments. Each ambassador is charged with increasing the viability, and accessibility, organizing clinics, raising funds, and helping to bring new junior golfers into better environments. First Tee is a benefactor of their work.

Elise Selected To The U.S. Naval Academy

We are so proud to announce that Chapter student Elise Mucklow has been selected to participate in the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar.  Elise is an 11th grade student in Coach’s Glen’s class at Commons Golf Learning Center.

During the six-day session, she will become a part of the Academy. She will live in Bancroft Hall (the dormitory all midshipmen live in), participate in academic and leadership workshops, and experience a variety of other activities on the campus. The Summer Seminar serves as a preliminary application to the Naval Academy.

The United States Naval Academy is a federal service academy in Annapolis, Maryland. It was established in 1845.  The Naval Academy is the second oldest of the five U.S. service academies and it educates midshipmen for service in the officer corps of the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps.
