In March, for the second time this season, Wylie posted a 2nd place showing in an FSGA Florida Junior Tour event at the Sandridge Exempt Only tournament in Vero Beach with rounds of 76 and the lowest round of the tournament of any player with a 68.
Wylie continued his strong play in April at the FJT Highlands Ridge tournament in Avon Park with a T4th place finish after rounds of 75 and one under 71. The course played at over 7,000 yards.
“He just turned 16 and is competing with the older players for a victory in the 16-18-year-old division,” said Carl Mistretta, Chapter Executive Director. “He is working very hard and knows he can win at this level. It is only a matter of time. His goal of playing DI golf is right on schedule. Like anything in life, work really hard and it pays off.”
