Sponsor Spotlight: Harbour Ridge

Harbour Ridge is a huge participant in our 100-Hole Challenge each and last year raised over $17,000 to support our children and veterans.

Harbour Ridge is named from the bluffs that created the harbor and the ridge made by the high bluffs along their River Ridge golf course. This is a fitting name for a club whose defining characteristics include its symbiosis with nature. The Club’s emblem, the eagle, was selected for its beauty and majesty and as a symbol of the Club’s commitment to protecting Florida’s natural resources. Eagles still soar around and make their home in the area.

From Beginners To Golfers

Coach Gabbie’s Girls Golf class just wrapped up, and the girls had an absolute blast! The girls have been spending their Saturday mornings at The Champions Club, and they have progressed from beginners to golfers. Please visit our website to register your daughter for Coach Gabbie’s Girls Golf class.

Program Partner Spotlight: ARC of SLC

ARC of St. Lucie County is pictured above with Coach Gabbie Budd, LPGA at our Westside Campus golf learning facility. This group comes every week with big smiles on their faces and always ready to go! They have made such great improvements over the last few weeks, and Coach Gabbie looks forward to seeing them. They brighten her day as much as she brightens their day.

From Playground To The Course

Utilizing a playground area, Coach Ben Miller, PGA was able to introduce nearly twenty local children to the game of golf from the Martin County Parks & Rec J.A.S.E program. For five consecutive weeks, a SNAG driving range was built directly in the middle of the park. With Velcro targets and hula hoops, the kids were introduced to basic golf swing fundamentals.  More importantly, the participants were encouraged to demonstrate our core values throughout the programming. A huge shout out should go to Ms. Leticia Farias for engaging with consistent communication and organization which ensured that these children’s time with our outreach programming was maximized.

Learning Golf With Big Brothers Big Sisters

We have partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters to bring their kids and mentors the game of golf. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a 501 non-profit organization whose mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. This organization works with kids ranging in ages, by partnering up a little with an older volunteer. This group had such a blast at Sailfish Sands! They did an amazing job demonstrating our core values, along with learning golf.

Winner At The Spring Egg Stroll

We were delighted to attend the East 10th Street Community Center Spring Egg Stroll at Memorial Park in downtown Stuart. East 10th Street Community Center has been an amazing partner in their efforts to serve the young people of the community in a positive manner.

Program Coordinator, Steven Andrade, handed out Easter eggs including one special egg that contained a ticket for a free 6-week golf program. Mikey was our lucky winner, and he is eager to get started!

SHOUT OUT to East 10th Street Community Center for hosting such a great event and for being a valued program partner for so many years with out Chapter.

Student Spotlight: Malachi

Fourteen teen participants from Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County attended weekly programming at our Westside Campus golf learning facility. One teen in particular, Malachi Davis, showed such an interest and talent that he was invited to our Saturday programs at Sailfish Sands. After attending two golf lessons per week, Malachi began asking for his own set of clubs and playing at a local golf course. We provided a set of clubs and helped Malachi arrange for a tee time at Fairwinds Golf Course.  Coach Ben Miller, PGA and Program Coordinator Steven Andrade introduced Malachi and his grandmother to the staff, showed him around the facility, and took him out for his first 9-hole round of golf. Malachi is officially hooked! He lives only 8 minutes from Fairwinds and now knows what this amazing facility can offer him.
