Floridian National recently hosted the inaugural Rosie Pro-Am. The event will benefit The “Rosie” Scholarship Fund and the students at First Tee – Florida Gold Coast. The “Rosie” scholarship was established in memory of our Honorary Vice Chairman, Tim Rosaforte, by Chapter President Bobby Hendel.

Tim was a legend and enjoyed a long and successful career in golf media. He wrote for the Tampa Times, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Sports Illustrated and Golf Digest. He also worked in broadcasting with USA Network and Golf Channel. Tim was a rare breed of journalist who successfully worked in both television and print at the same time. He served as the President of the Golf Writers Association of America.

Join our Ace Program! Ace is an additional capstone program built for teens to help them game-plan what’s next. It integrates the skills and inner strengths they’ve developed at First Tee and points them toward exploring, investing in, and building a clear plan and assets for their next step. In 2024, there will be 7-10 “ACE Days” that will take place during a day off of school where students will gather to complete projects and play golf. This is a program that is a benefit to your eligible students and is in addition to your already existing First Tee program. Students must be 16 years old and an active participant in our program for at least 3 years. Please visit our registration website.
We are continuing our golf programs with Special Olympics at Topgolf Pompano. Special Olympics athletes and families enjoy the program taught by coaches Robert Ferzoco and Greg Mingo.
Two more 4-week Special Olympics programs have been approved and scheduled for the fall at Topgolf Pompano.

Meet Fabiana Galindo. Fabiana recently joined our program as a beginner. Over the past few months, Fabiana has shown grit and determination. This dedication has enabled Fabiana to graduate to the Intermediate Class. She continues to grow and improve in our classes. Fabiana is also a key player in our PGA Junior League held at Cooper Colony every Tuesday evening. Keep up the great work!
Veterans Tom Kruse, Erik Ducharme, and Bill Leschinsky played in the monthly golf outing at Country Club of Coral Springs with veteran outreach volunteer, Jack Bloomfield.
