Experiencing The Magic

Chapter alumna Jayda Dookie has found herself nestled in the heart of Orlando for her summer in the Disney College Program. She has been immersed in a myriad of opportunities provided by the program, from Disney’s illuminating leadership classes, hands-on work experiences, and the ability to explore the Disney Parks.  Jayda’s summer can be seen as nothing short of magical.

Being in the epicenter of theme parks, Jayda is seizing the opportunity to deepen her understanding of her chosen majors, Supply Chain Management and Global Studies. Using Disney as a backdrop, she uses the workshops they give to highlight the balance between imagination and logistics that makes the company so successful.

Fore All Junior Golf Foundation

The Fore All Junior Golf Foundation’s team of ambassadors hosted Tabor Academy for a match at The Park during their spring break trip to South Florida.  Ten members of each team played in the matches.  The Tabor group graciously donated directly to our organization in honor of the Fore All team.

The Fore All Junior Golf Foundation has been set up by Carson Lowe, age 14, and Nicholas Zaccagnino, age 15, to increase accessibility to the best courses and tournaments in the United States. Jordan has been an exemplary member of our mission, increasing the viability and accessibility, and bringing new junior golfers into better environments. Each ambassador is charged with increasing the viability, and accessibility, organizing clinics, raising funds, and helping to bring new junior golfers into better environments. First Tee is a benefactor of their work.

Cognizant Ambassadors At Quantum

Chapter Executive Director Carl Mistretta and Board Member Anthony Coletta are Cognizant Classic Ambassadors.  They recently joined their fellow Ambassadors to serve brunch for the children and families staying at the Quantum House on the campus of St. Mary’s Medical Center.   Carl delivered his signature chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes and Anthony whipped up the eggs.

Quantum House is a caring and supportive home that lessens the burden for families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for serious medical conditions.

In 2024, there will be 7-10 “ACE Days” that will take place during a day off of school where students will gather to complete projects and play golf. This is a program that is a benefit to your eligible students and is in addition to your already existing First Tee program. Students must be 16 years old and an active participant in our program for at least 3 years. Please visit our registration website.

Fun With The Champions Club

First Tee programs are active at The Champions Club at Summerfield. We are currently running multiple programs for students of all ages and abilities.

On Thursdays, Coach Liam runs an after-school class for novice to intermediate players. This class has grown tremendously due to Coach Liam’s dedication to the students. This class focuses on the commitments and the fundamentals of golf. His students demonstrate an increase in student confidence and skillset.

On Saturdays, Coach Gabbie, LPGA, runs two LPGA Girls Golf Classes. This is a unique opportunity for girls to learn the game of golf in a female-dominated environment. Coach Gabbie always enjoys class with her students.

Tim was a legend and enjoyed a long and successful career in golf media. He wrote for the Tampa Times, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Sports Illustrated and Golf Digest. He also worked in broadcasting with USA Network and Golf Channel. Tim was a rare breed of journalist who successfully worked in both television and print at the same time.
