Golf Equipment Donations
We are always looking for donations of quality golf clubs and bags. We will either distribute the clubs to young people that cannot afford their own set or sell them to generate funds to offset the purchase of junior clubs or to conduct our programming. To make a donation, please visit or contact one of our drop off sites today. Your donations are tax deductible and you will be given a receipt.
2%+ Club
First Tee – Broward launched the 2%+ Club with the goal of golf enthusiasts donating 2% of their annual golf expenses to our children and veterans. For the typical golfaholic, this equates to between $10 and $50 per month.
Year End Annual Appeal
We are excited to announce that we exceeded our participation goals and community impact for 2021!
- 643 First Tee students
- 106 special needs students
- 81 veterans
Our last fundraising campaign of the year is our Annual Appeal. There is a new wrinkle this year with a matching grant.
Charles R. Schwab has committed transformational support through a new $25 million grant will provide up to a $1 match for every $2 donated to First Tee Chapters by individuals, corporations and foundations now through 2026. This grant program will provide our chapter the opportunity to significantly grow and deepen our impact over the next several years.
“I believe in the power of investing to help individuals create a better tomorrow,” said Charles R. Schwab. “That’s why I am investing in First Tee. I believe in this organization’s mission and the power of the First Tee Chapters to continue changing the game for young people for years to come.”

Planned Giving
The roots of golf can be traced back to Scotland in1457. Our youth development organization has continued the traditions of the game for over 25 years in Palm Beach County. First Tee – Broward has evolved into a major youth development organization at golf courses all throughout the county. Founded by George McGrory (“Mr. Mac”), our non-profit organization, The Children’s Golf Foundation, Inc. began serving young people with disabilities in 1988.
Our chapter of First Tee was established with the support of the Michael B. Finnegan Foundation, the PGA of America and The Honda Classic. Our service area includes all of Broward County, which encompasses over 300,000 young people under the age of eighteen. Our chapter is one of over 160 throughout the world and one of 15 chapters in the state of Florida. Our programs are taught by PGA and LPGA Coaches trained by First Tee.

Vehicle License Plate Program
Broward County golfers have no doubt taken notice of the “Golf Capital of the World” license plate proudly displayed on thousands of local automobiles. Many golfers do not know that the benefitting charity of this license plate is junior golf.
Created in 2002 by the Dade Amateur Golf Association, the Florida Junior Golf Council was formed for the benefit of Florida’s junior golf programs. Through the efforts of the late Charlie DeLucca, the “Golf Capital of the World” license plate was passed into law by the Florida legislature and Governor Jeb Bush. All revenue generated supports junior golf programs. To date, over $8.7 million has been distributed to support junior golf.
The FJGC license plate grant program is designed to assist organizations that introduce young people to golf, through instruction and competition, teach the values and Rules of Golf, stress integrity, courtesy, self-discipline, and other life skills. Additionally, the grant program assists junior golf organizations that serve economically disadvantaged youth, children with special needs and the general population. The FJGC is planning to significantly increase the size of grants for the next year because of the impact of COVID-19 on junior golf programs.
The easiest way to purchase the license plate is during your birthday month by renewing your tag registration. The plate can be purchased online or in person at the office of the tax collector or tag agency. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
