Story 1 Please support our local PGA TOUR events and volunteer in 2019. We have been offered an incredible opportunity to volunteer at the upcoming Champions Tour event at Broken Sound in Boca Raton.  This is also a great opportunity to introduce high school and college students to the arena of professional golf. The Oasis Championship at Broken Sound is looking for Pro-Am assistance, standard bearers and leaderboards attendants from February 4-10 with the Pro-Ams early in the week followed by the televised tournament days. Please CLICK HERE to register to volunteer.  Junior volunteers, please use the promo codes “SCHOOL10”. For more information, please contact: Ali Naugle at [email protected]

A few years ago, Chapter Director and Treasurer, Mitch Stump, connected us with his hometown middle school golf team, Calhoun Middle High School. Since then, we have donated many sets of newly gripped clubs, golf bags & shoes, golf clothing, and 48 dozen golf balls. “We ended up doubling our players this year to 10 players. My big goal for our second season was to get more girls involved and we ended being successful! Thanks again for the contribution to the team this season and we look forward to the coming years.” said Matt Walker, Calhoun Middle High School Health Teacher.

Chapter Eagle participant, Staci Pla, attended The First Tee of Greater New Orleans National Tournament. Staci finished in 5th place with a 36-hole score of 77- 87. “I loved my time in New Orleans, it was a great experience! I met so many amazing people and the activities away from the golf course opened my eyes to new culture. Thank you to The First Tee of The Palm Beaches for the opportunity,” said Staci. The event kicked off with a Welcome Dinner featuring PGA Tour Player Morgan Hoffmann. Throughout the four days, social activities were organized for the participants to meet others from across the country.

Chapter participant, Linus Castro, joined the PGA Hope Veterans for a round of golf at Eastpoint Country Club over the holiday break. At just 6 years old, Linus showed off his fantastic talents with our local veterans alongside to cheer him on. “I wanted to thank our Veterans for keeping us safe.
